Hello!
This was my first time in the Big Bad Wolf last February 20, 2020. It was an amazing experience for a bookish person like me. Yay!
I just hope that next year, I’ll be able to buy a lot… like, a LOT! Because I want to share one or two books here (book community) as a giveaway since my plan for my blog anniversary this year didn’t happen. So please, let’s stay healthy this year and be safe from the virus.
What is Big Bad Wolf?
Big Bad Wolf is the world’s biggest book sale which started in Malaysia in 2009. Read more on their website here.
The Entrance
We got there right after work. It was around 6:30 in the evening and we finished buying around 9:30. Yes, I am THAT patient with books! Lol. I can roam around there for a whole day if it wasn’t weekdays.
Of course, we have to take our “Mandatory Selfie” at the entrance. It isn’t a good one because we were excited to enter the book sale and there were a lot of people who were waiting to get their selfies here.
The Books I Bought
These are all the books that I bought from the BBW with a huge discount raging from 20% to 65%! Specifically, those hardbound books which I got at 65% discount.
These are the paperbacks that I’ve got for around $4 to $6 only!
I already finished reading A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness last month and as I am typing this, I realized that I totally forgot to post my book review about it. Lol. I might post it this week or next week before I go back to work.
For the To The Bright Edge of the World by Eowyn Ivey, I am yet to read it soon.
These are the hardbound books that I bought at a very reasonable price. I forgot the exact amount of these books but I am 100% sure that I got each book at a 65% discount! For now, I am waiting for another sale to get the other books from these book series so I can start reading it.
Funny, how I realized lately that I have a bad habit of collecting books in a random order like this. I bought Book 2 & 3 of The Darkest Minds series while I don’t own the Book 1 yet… Same goes with The Heroes of Olympus series. Lol. On the brighter side, this bad habit will definitely motivate me to buy the remaining books instead of buying some random books.
Look at those spines!!! I’m in love!
After the Book Shopping
I am grateful to have them as my friends/colleagues.
Before the book sale arrived in our city, I thought I would just go alone and have a “me time” with books but when they saw my post on Facebook, they told me that they want to go too. I was excited!
It is uncommon for me to have guy friends who also love to read books because most of my guy friends in high school and college were not “fans” of novels. Just in case you’re wondering why I am not mentioning my female friends, it is because I have few and most of them don’t read novels. Also, I am in a field where male species are dominant that’s why in real life, most of my friends and colleagues at work are men.
The view outside before we went home.
Thank you for reading!
That’s it for my first experince of Big Bad Wolf!
How about you? Have you been to the BBW or to any similar book sale?
I’d love to know yours! Happy reading! 🙂
