WARNING: This review may contain spoilers.

First of all, the synopsis is fascinating! I like the idea of waking up to different bodies every day although it’s honestly scary. The plot is unique and it makes me wonder how did A ends up with that kind of life. Every Day has a strong introduction that really captures my interest with its unique concept and with each page, I always wonder if A will ever have his/her own body. I like how Levithan explores with A’s gender, race, etc. The writing style and structure are understandable and easy to read. Another thing that I like about this book is that it has quotable and relatable lines.

On the contrary, it goes downhill the moment A meets Rhiannon– this is where I  first questioned A’s purpose. Is it to find a solution and a permanent body of his/her own or to chase Rhiannon wherever she goes using his/her host’s body? Or maybe, both?

I understand that A did everything he/she could just to get closer to Rhiannon, but do he/she really need to break someone else’s relationship? Do he/she really need to go out of his/her host’s daily routine or lifestyle? I have a lot of questions but I did not find any. I  honestly don’t like how their love story unfolds. For me, it feels like A is obsessed with the idea of love that the moment he/she saw Rhiannon’s weaknesses, he/she did not stop chasing or rather stalking her. It is creepy and I don’t like how they become selfish up to the point where A no longer respect his/her host’s body anymore. Nevertheless, I like the ending and I can’t wait to read the next book, Another Day (in Rhiannon’s perspective). I hope that it will somehow enlighten me and answer my “??? feeling” while reading this book.

Lastly, I may have a not-so-good review about this book but this will not hinder me from reading the next book because I am still curious!

“We all want everything to be okay. We don’t even wish so much for fantastic or marvelous or outstanding. We will happily settle for okay, because most of the time, okay is enough.”

“It’s one thing to fall in love. It’s another to feel someone else falling in love with you, and to feel a responsibility toward that love.”

“Kindness connects to who you are, while niceness connects to how you want to be seen.”

“People take love’s continuity for granted, just as they take their body’s continuity for granted.”

“No matter what our religion or gender or race or geographic background, we all have about 98 percent in common with each other.”

“Self-preservation isn’t worth it if you can’t live with the self you’re preserving.”

“But do you know what happens to girls who love lost boys? They become lost themselves.”

“Just because you trust me, it doesn’t mean I have to automatically trust you. Trust doesn’t work like that.”

“Not getting what you want can make you cruel.”

“You feel it’s a battle you will never win… and yet you fight it day by day, and it wears you down. Even if you try to ignore it, the energy it takes to ignore it will exhaust you.”

S Y N O P S I S

Every day a different body. Every day a different life. Every day in love with the same girl.
There’s never any warning about where it will be or who it will be. A has made peace with that, even established guidelines by which to live: Never get too attached. Avoid being noticed. Do not interfere.

It’s all fine until the morning that A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. From that moment, the rules by which A has been living no longer apply. Because finally, A has found someone he wants to be with—day in, day out, day after day.
